Final Semester Project Update

This past Saturday I conducted an interview with Dr. Coleman who gave great responses about facing woman adversity as a successful woman scientist. She stated: "I never thought that I would talk about it because honestly, I thought by talking about the difference I am being chauvinistic about myself". She also agreed with my beliefs that it is unfortunate that we live in a society where we have to say "women in science".  The questions that I asked her included:  how has yourgender made your career journey different? How have you coped with the adversities you have faced? What advice would you give to young woman pursuing a stem career?
By interviewing her, she also gave me advice about how I should go about creating a platform for women empowerment.  We agreed that most people would be more willing to watch videos over reading a blog. This was a great point brought up. I am not too sure how to go about it. The options are to create: a youtube channel while creating an instagram previewing short clips of the full videos. Perhaps an in depth blog would be a  good idea in the future.
In addition,  I did speak to the doctor that I would be interviewing. She said she would love to participate but after she comes back into the state.

About myself:
Hello everyone! My name is Johanna, a current biology student pursuing a career in science. I have decided to help create a community of successful women in STEM. I hope that you gain something from this video and future videos to come. Most importantly, acknowledge that
you can pursue your dreams and passions despite the adversities you may face along the way.
