With a pleasure to going to this exhibition, we had an honor to witness many great projects. Many tell a story of how reality is as an activist cause. Each with meaningfx ul meaning to it. More as a message then visuals. My project discusses financial issues that we as a whole goes through everyday . An issue that is a very reality to many middle class and lower people that want to have an education. Because as what we know , college is not cheap.
The first artwork that caught my attention is the “Denim Day” it’s tells a story about victim that has been harassed by a 45 year old driving teacher that has harassed a an 18 year old . During her driving lesson , the driver stopped and forced her to have sex with him. Forced her to take her tight jean off herself and then continue to rape l. And then claimed that it wasn’t rape because she took her pants off so it was consensual sex. This concludes that this can happen to anyone at any time. Also the artwork “what were you wearing”. This display also represents victim that have been sexually assaulted. There were four different types of clothing in this exhibition a dress, pajamas, a Nike running tank and running shorts, and a T-shirt and jeans.
Although most the project is hard to relate to my semester project. This project talk about kids that are and have been through a struggle. That some can never go back from . Something they have to live with. Really relates to those that don’t have a chose to go to college because of lack of money and also debt that they go through with the rest of their lives .
The next project I will be talking about is the Lauren Greenfield project. It represents a girl becoming skinny . That's promoting eating disorder and also anorexia awareness . Lauren Greenfield’s series THIN is a photographic essay and a documentary film about the treatment of eating disorders.THIN provides a window into the complicated and hard process of treatment, the culture of rehab, an d the experience of struggling with an eating disorder.Society holding great amounts of blame, the experiences those girls have gone through has lead them to fall into a pit of mental stress. And it’s cause from situation or problem experience . And this leads to how it relates to my project. How the worry of student loans and other college expenses can effect the mental health of students which can lead to things such as mental illness and eating disorders. Eating disorders pose a serious problem to millions of college students nationwide. And it have happen. “Full-blown eating disorders typically begin between 18 and 21 years of age, according to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA). The association estimates that between 10 and 20% of women and 4 to 10% of men in college suffer from an eating disorder, and rates are on the rise.”-https://www.google.com/amp/s/childmind.org/article/eating-disorders-and-college/amp/
These opportunity that I want to promote may reduce it tremendously.
